A Mother’s Day for Peace
The Rev. James Galasinski
The idea of Mother’s Day came from a Unitarian, Julia Ward Howe. In 1872, she began advocating for the creation of a “Mother’s Day for Peace.” Over time it was resurrected and adapted into its current Hallmark form. We will mark the contributions women have made to peace as a means to get back to the genesis of the holiday.
