Harvest Sunday: Simple Living Beyond the Thrift Store
Phil Harnden, Pulpit Guest
A popular bumper sticker proclaims “Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live.” But does focusing on personal consumption actually enable other people to live? Refocusing on social policies could help move us “beyond the thrift store,” beyond an individualized preoccupation with de-cluttering and personal frugality.
Phil Harnden, a North Country resident since 1988, is a Quaker and the founder of GardenShare.
