Coffee and Conversation: Path to Wonder
Hosted by the Second Wednesday Listening Circle
Three members of the Second Wednesday Listening Circle – Cathy Crosby, Robin Collen, and Stevie Michaelson – will facilitate. Path to Wonder is based on one of the topics discussed in the listening circle as part of the Soul Matters program: a series of monthly spiritual exercises focused on different key themes, such as play, justice and equity, generosity, and holding intention, developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).
The listening circle began in the depths of COVID lockdown in September 2020, and some members (James, Jenn Whittaker, and Cathy) have been part of the group since the beginning. Other members are Robin Collen, Stevie Michaelson, Kathy Montan and Valerie Ingram.
Why focus on wonder? Sometimes, our busy lives prevent us from appreciating simple moments of wonder that are all around us. The slower pace of the summer provides space for us to ponder the wonderful.
In this service, we will watch a short video compilation of “Moments”—and then invite participants to talk in smaller groups about the moments that “shimmered” for them in the video, as well as their early memories of wonder and how we might create more room in our lives for wonder.
