Sunday Worship 3.26.23

Who are “All Beings”?
Jacob King, Pulpit Guest

Since 1985, our faith has made a covenantal commitment to the “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part”. This principle has been slightly transformed in the Proposed Article 2 Study Commission’s draft revisions. This “value”, now called “Interdependence”, references a covenant of cherishing Earth and all beings.

Jacob King (He/Him/His) is a 3rd year Masters of Divinity Student at Starr King School for the Ministry. Jacob is currently serving as the Ministerial Intern for the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany. Jacob thea/ologically identifies as a UU-Christian (in that order) and strives to find a balance between honoring our heritage while still working to build a multi-cultural, diverse, “Beloved Community.” Some of Jacob’s unique “traits” include Neurodivergent (ADHD), LGBTQia2S+ (Bi-sexual), and Vegan (for spiritual reasons!).
