Redemption, God’s Will, and Other Problematic Religious Language

Conservative religious language permeates our culture. People may want to pray for us and tell us the hurricane is part of God’s will. What exactly do they mean by that? Translating this problematic language into our own theology can help us to become more loving and compassionate.
