In Religious Education 11.4.18

This Sunday our children and youth will hear a story about a princess, make soup, begin designing a display for Lights on the River, participate in a retreat and make plans for going to Mohawk Valley Center for Refugees. We will also have a fire drill immediately following the end of worship around 11:30am!

RE Ambassador is Esther Katz. 

Nursery will be opened and staffed by Jennifer Sorensen and Kiley Frank. 

Spirit Play will hear the story “The Paperbag Princess.”  An indigo promise story which reminds us to insist on freedom, justice and peace for all beings. 

Teachers: Cara Coffin and Maria Dickinson 

Spirit of Adventure will begin exploring food.  We will hear the story Stone Soup and create our own delicious soup. 

Teachers: Jenn Whittaker and Eileen Raymond 

Maker Space will begin designing and creating a display for Lights on the River in Lisbon, NY.  Lights On The River is dedicated to providing both physical supplies and monetary donations to local food pantries of St. Lawrence County.  The organization is focused on meeting the needs of the food pantries and act as a voice for them in the community.

Coming of Age will be participating in their second retreat weekend.   We will look to rituals of our faith, the Native American Thanksgiving address and more.

Youth Group will be discussing immigration and making plans to visit the Mohawk Valley Center for Refugees.
