On Tuesday, June 14, at 5 p.m., the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, in coordination with St. Lawrence University, will hold a vigil for the victims of the shootings in Orlando. The vigil will take place in Gunnison Chapel (directions here) on the St. Lawrence campus. All are welcome.
“In this sad time our community needs a venue for the people to come together and grieve a terrible loss and a tragedy,” says the Rev. Joel Miller, interim minister at the UU Church. “Our response to a moment of injustice and a moment of fear is to reach out to each other with compassion and love.” People of all faiths and beliefs are welcome. Childcare will be available.
