Church and Community Program

The late Reverend Max Coots, minister emeritus of our church, was one of the founders of the Church and Community Program, begun in 1974 as a partnership among several churches of Canton to address urgent needs of low-income neighbors for food, clothing, and other essentials.

C&CP’s thrift shop, food pantry, and office are located on the corner at 7 Main Street. Up to three members of our congregation serve on the board and others volunteer in many capacities.  In December, a portion of our Holiday Offering is given to support the Church and Community Program. Our church participates in CCP’s “Giving Tree” initiative, which provides toys and clothing, holiday gifts for low-income families.
