DRUUMM Election Evening Gathering Space – November 5 8-11PM EST – DRUUMM is hosting a space for support and spiritual care on the evening of Election Day. We’ve designed this as a BIPOC-only brave space to share music, readings, poetry, prayers, meditations, etc., and to provide sustenance to each other. Please register and join us for any part of the time. This event is BIPOC-only, a sacred space reserved for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color and UU or interested in Unitarian Universalism. DRUUMM recognizes every Community of Color is impacted differently, and each community maintains its own unique identity and culture. BIPOC/People of Color/Person of Color/Community of Color is a political identity of survival and being in resistance to racism and colonialism, one that builds solidarity and creates positive change. UU Community Resilience Hub – As part of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s commitment to building resilient, safe, and thriving communities, we encourage you to visit the UU Community Resilience Hub a comprehensive resource offering tools, training, and support to help protect our communities and democracy. The hub contains everything from conflict de-escalation to leveraging spiritual and physical assets during critical times. BLUU Worship Service – November 10 4pm ET – Our Black UU community of people of all faith paths and of no faith gathers for online worship every second Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT. BLUU’s online worship service is Black Sacred Space in its entirety – by and for Black people, with the words and voices of Black folks across the diaspora – and we hope that Black UUs and Black UU-adjacent folks (who share our values) from far and wide will join us! Taproot: A National BIPOC Gathering ~ November 13 8-9:30 pm ET – The work of spiritual community is complicated in the 21st century. From busy schedules to the ever pressing tension brought on by systemic injustice, the need for faithful leadership that is grounded and resilient is imperative. This is all the more true for leaders within our communities and congregations who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPoC). All too aware of this need, Congregational Life is excited to explore and co-create a network with congregational leaders that support them in this time in emergent ways through Taproot: A National BIPOC Space. UU Ministry for the Earth Monthly Full Moon Gathering – November 14 7- 8pm EDT – This full moon is the Hunter Moon, historically a time when people would begin preparing for the winter – hunting and storing food. Promoting Peacemaking in Our World – Saturday, November 16 – Join fellow Unitarian Universalists for a day of camaraderie, connection, and collaboration at the 11th Annual Assembly of the UUs of Greater Pittsburgh! The day will include a panel discussion, business meeting, morning worship service and more. You do not need to be a cluster member to attend. UPLIFT Transgender/Nonbinary+ Pastoral Care Group Space – Second Fridays at 8pm ET – What is pastoral care, exactly? Pastoral care is support with navigating life—big and small things, joys and hardships and all those mixed together. UPLIFT Access Resource Webinar – November 21 at 12 pm ET – Our loving faith calls us to honor the inherent rights and dignity of all people and to fight forms of oppression wherever we find them. However, disabled people (who make up 26% of the population) regularly find ourselves pushed to the margins, being denied our needs, and not receiving the radical welcome UU’s aspire to provide to all members. Tools for Tending: Post-Election Spiritual Care Space – Thursday, November 21 7 – 9PM ET – Join Side With Love, BLUU, and DRUUMM for Tools for Tending: Post-Election Spiritual Care Space. This 2-hour special event is open to all and will help tend our spirits through somatic practices, spiritual grounding, and small group connection. Combining structured elements, reflection time, music, facilitated caucus spaces, and visioning exercises, we hope you will feel grounded, strengthened, and held. Register here.
UPLIFT Transgender/Nonbinary+ Monthly Gathering – November 26 at 8pm ET – Join the UPLIFT monthly gatherings focused on trans, nonbinary, and other not (completely or at all) cis UUs. The Nudge – Second and Fourth Thursday from 5:00-6:00pm ET in Gunnison Chapel at SLU- At some point, everyone feels a nudge in their being. The Nudge is an Interfaith Dialogue Group responding to the nudge/s in our spirit. Committed to belonging and inclusion, persons of all spiritual/religious traditions and those of none, are welcome to gather as we seek to deepen spiritually by exploring important life questions, values and ideas. The Nudge will explore various contemplative spiritual practices like meditation, centering prayer, and labyrinth walking, to nudge our spiritual imaginations into centering, asking big questions, exploring wonder, making meaning, listening to our inner voices, and awakening our spirits.
