Guest At Your Table 2019

On Sunday, February 3 and Sunday, February 10, our youth group will be distributing Guest at Your table boxes during social hour.  We ask that you please take these home, place them in a visible spot in your house, and each day make a contribution, no matter how small.  Please limit to one per household.  Included with each Guest at Your Table box is a pamphlet containing the stories of four real people who have faced and fought against injustice. Some have had to flee their homes leaving everything behind, some stay and put their lives at risk every day fighting to make their world more just. Please take a few moments from your day to read their stories and know there are so many more than can be told here.  Separately, as stated in the last pages of the pamphlet, please join UUSC in their work on behalf of human rights and social justice – make a contribution to support our efforts.

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee through the Guest at Your Table program has been helping grassroots leaders change the world for over a decade. The focus this year is on the on the plight of the thousands of Central Americans living in danger or fleeing their home countries from violence and making the treacherous journey north in order to find refuge in the United States. Your donation of $40 or more earns you and your family annual UUSC membership benefits. In addition, all individual and family unrestricted contributions of $125 or more are eligible to be matched by the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock in Manhasset, NY – doubling the impact of your gift.

These boxes and your generous donations will be collected on March 17th. On behalf of the UUSC and the thousands of people that receive their aid, we thank you.
