In Religious Education 1.13.19

This Sunday our children and youth will hear a story about a young gardener and an emperor, be inspired by comets and constellations, continue to explore winter ecology, participate in a retreat and participate in church ministry. 

RE Ambassador is Jim Williams. 

Nursery will be opened and staffed by Kathy Wyckoff and Barbara Beekman. 

Spirit Play will hear the story “The Empty Pot,” about an emperor and a young honest gardener. 

Teachers: Sarah Bentley-Garfinkel and Jeff Rousell 

Spirit of Adventure will continue to explore science.  We will celebrate the intersection of awe and science with a star theme and hear about Maria (Mar-eye-a) Mitchell, UU Astronomer. 

Teachers: Eileen Wheeler and Pete Beekman 

Maker Space will continue learning about winter ecology.  We will explore how to identify trees in winter and learn how they adapt to the winter environment. 

Teachers: David Bradford and Ruth Baltus

Coming of Age will participate in a retreat.  We will be exploring social justice in our faith. 

Teachers: Social Action Committee Members and COA Advisors and Mentors 

Youth Group will be participating in church ministry by attending worship or helping out in the religious education program.
