Support for Racial Justice

Our support for Black Lives Matter (BLM), which we will emphasize with a sign on the exterior of our church building, stems from our commitment to racial justice and our belief in the worth and dignity of every person. We support and partner with historically marginalized and oppressed people so that we can live out our calling to bring about justice in our society. In the past, the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Canton has demonstrated a visible resistance to inequality, oppression, and the subjugation of human rights, and we will continue to do so.

Please listen to the Rev. James Galasinski’s recent sermon, What Happens to a Dream Deferred? for a deeper understanding of why this is an important moment for our congregation to be a social justice voice in our community.

Anyone who missed the discussion after church on Sunday, January 15, or didn’t have an opportunity to speak, may contact Church Council president Barbara Beekman at president@UUcantonny.org with any questions or comments.
