In Religious Education 1.15.17

In religious education this week, our children and youth will be hearing a story about an empty pot, learning about prophetic heroes, looking at homelessness in our community, preparing for a fundraising luncheon, and attending the worship service.

Our RE Ambassador for this Sunday is Rhonda Rodriguez.

Nursery will be open and staffed by Grace Rousell and Jean Williams-Bergen.

Spirit Play will be hearing the story “The Empty Pot”, a green promise story about Ping, a young boy who loved to grow flowers and an Emperor who was looking for a successor.

Teachers: Todd Moe and Maria Dickinson

Our Caring Community will be looking to prophetic heroes.  They will explore the idea that Martin Luther King Jr. was a kind of prophet because he spoke about injustice and worked to tell everyone the truth about racism and oppression in our country.

Teachers: Sue Powers and Kate Whitehorne

Maker Space will continue their homelessness education project.  They will be looking to create education materials for our congregation and beyond.

Teachers: Sally Hoose and Ruth Baltus

Coming of Age will be hosting their first fundraising luncheon.  They are looking to raise $2500 for their trip to Boston in May.

Teachers: Karen Bage and Arthur Freeheart

Youth Group will be attending the worship service.
