Because of scheduling issues that affect participation by the greatest number of high school youth, the Our Whole Lives calendar has been adjusted to one retreat from Friday evening, October 14, to Saturday evening, October 15. If this change means that you will now be able to participate, please let Carol Zimmerman or one of the OWL facilitators know as soon as possible.
We want to emphasize that this is not a “sex ed” class. It is a program about friends, clothes, music, relationships, sex, responsibility, and independence. Through thoughtful and unhurried conversation, you will gain from others, and share your own, knowledge, life principles and skills you need to express your sexuality in life-enhancing ways. OWL puts sexuality into the context of values and personal responsibility, helping all of us to manage social pressure and advocate for equality. It provides an opportunity to bring values and integrity to the real-life issues while having a ton of fun!
Really, what you learn, think, and talk about during the OWL retreat will benefit you for your whole life!
If you want to learn more about the OWL high school curriculum, you can talk with us or we can put you in touch with OWL alumni, who really know the scoop.
