In preparation for the world climate summit to be held this December, the UUA designated climate change to be its 2015 Action of Immediate Witness, with a resolution stating: “The 2015 UU General Assembly calls on Unitarian Universalists to unify and provide ethical and moral leadership for climate action and to do so within our congregations and within our multi-faith communities.”
In support of this resolution, the Environmental Action Committee invites you to stay for lunch after service on Sunday, November 29, for a discussion on the UN Climate Summit, which will be held in Paris in early December. Sue Powers, who is professor in sustainable systems at Clarkson University and director of their Sustainability Institute, and Jon Rosales, professor of environmental studies at St. Lawrence University, will be on hand to explain the significance of this summit and why many consider it to be the world’s last hope to “Manage the Unavoidable and Avoid the Unmanageable.”
