In this political season, the issue of how our elections are funded has become a critical one. Continuing our focus on the impact of inequalities, we are holding a lunch-time discussion after church on Sunday, November 1.
Our focus will be on a national effort to amend our constitution to limit the impact of big donors on our electoral process, in light of the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court. Margaret and Bart Harloe will be sharing information about the “Move to Amend” movement, which they learned about at General Assembly last June.
We will also consider the 2011 UUA Action of Immediate Witness regarding campaign funding and actions our church might take to support this effort. Come join us for a light lunch and share your ideas about citizen actions that are consistent with our UU values.
