The Value of Interfaith Community

The mission of the Potsdam Interfaith Community (PIC) is to “be an interfaith community of congregational representatives striving to understand and respect our diversity before God; provide mutual support and encouragement to one another as we are enriched by our individual gifts and journeys, so that we might offer to our own faith communities, and the greater Potsdam community as a whole, hope and care expressed in specific acts of compassion and justice, and opportunities for service, common witness, and spiritual and intellectual growth”.
Pat Alden and Sarah Bentley-Garfinkel currently serve as our congregation’s co-liaisons to the PIC. They will share reflections on this mission statement, and on the value – and delights – of participating in an interfaith effort.
