A Beginner’s Mind
The Rev. Margaret Weis, Pulpit Guest
How do we open ourselves to possibility and new learnings as spiritual seekers? If we are to commit ourselves to lifelong learning, we must also strive to have a beginner’s mind. With humility, openness, and wonder we might learn more about ourselves and the world around us.
The Rev. Margaret Weis is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist from the Boston area. She’s served as a chaplain and minister at hospitals and congregations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York. You may recognize her from “pulpit swaps” with Rev. James, as she previously served as the minister at our UU congregation in Ithaca. Most recently, Rev. Margaret has stepped out of the pulpit and returned to the classroom. She is a first-year graduate student at Cornell University Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy in their Master of Public Administration program. Her concentration is at the intersection of policy, human rights, and social justice. Rev. Margaret lives in Ithaca with her wife, Susan, and their rescue dog Bader (named after RBG). She is ecstatic to be invited back to this lovely congregation for worship!
