Each year, our church participates in the Church and Community Program’s Back to School Program. Each member church is asked to focus on one type of supplies that teachers request individual students to bring on the first day. Unsurprisingly, some parents can’t afford to buy everything on the list, and that is where church congregations can help out.
This year we are asked to provide headphones. Cliff Westerling found a bulk package of headphones and Pat Sibbitts, the head of this initiative, will be ordering 100 pairs for a total of $511.95. The UU Church is not expected to cover the total cost of all of these. If you are willing to contribute, we will be collecting donations until August 20, but appreciate contributions as early as possible to assist with planning. You can mail cash or check payable to Church and Community Program to the church (3 ½ East Main Street), or drop it off at the church office or the CCP Second Chance Thrift Store at 30 Court Street.
Thank you for your help!
