As Unitarian Universalists, we make covenants all the time. Our faith is built on covenant. The 7 Principles is really a covenant. But originally covenant was a sacred agreement God made with Noah and Abraham. Focusing on covenant is a focus on relationship instead of individuality. We make horizontal and vertical promises to each other and to the oneness of life.
