UU Church and community events coming soon:

This Sunday, September 21:

Worship, 10:30 a.m.: "From Fundamentalism to Freedom," with pulpit guest Marc Adams. Marc shares his journey as a gay man from fundamentalism and the "ex-gay" movement to UUism and self-affirmation. He will also speak at SLU’s Herring-Cole Hall at 8pm. All welcome at both events. [For more information, see News at UU Canton for Sept. 14.]

After church: An introduction to UUism for newcomers. Light lunch and child care provided.

Also after church, a UShare work party in Priest Field Garden

The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. We have several vacancies this year, so if you can count to four and would like to join the fun, please talk with director Nelly Case. Prior experience is not necessary and short-term commitments are fine.

Chalice Circles offer the opportunity to gather monthly in ongoing small groups to listen to each other’s lives and share ideas and experiences on spiritual and ethical topics. Brochures and registration forms are at a table in the Social Room, where Church Council members are on hand to answer your questions. If you’d like to participate, please fill out a form by September 21.

The Social Justice Council of the St. Lawrence UU district is sponsoring a workshop on "Politics and Liberal Religious Values in the Wake of Knoxville" on Oct. 4, 9 am - 4 pm at the 1st Unitarian Society of Schenectady. See our Social Action table, or ask Anne or Wade, for more information.

The next meeting of Prism, the GLBT support and concerns group of NNY, will be at our church on Sept. 21 at 6 pm for a pot-luck dinner. Then the group will go to hear Marc Adams [see above] at SLU.
