Documentary on National Security Implications of Climate Change

Few are aware of the concern many of the top brass in our United States military have for the national security implications of climate change.  The 2019 U.S. Army War College Report: Implications of Climate Change for the U.S. Army begins with the stark statement, “The Department of Defense is precariously unprepared for the national security implications of climate change-induced global security challenges.”

North Country 350 Alliance and the Faith in Action leadership group from the Canton Unitarian Universalist Church are doing a joint presentation of the documentary The Age of Consequences which explores this important topicIt will be held online on the evening of Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 6:30-8:30 pm.

The documentary will be followed by a brief presentation by Dr. Susan Powers on what “transitioning to a renewable economy” would look like in actual practice, followed by a Q&A.  Dr. Powers is the Spence Professor of Sustainable Environmental Systems and the Director of the Institute for a Sustainable Environment at Clarkson University.
